This week, I happened to mention to several people the tango band I played in for a few months in Albuquerque (QTANGO – and they’ve accomplished their goal to hold an ABQtango fest).
As a result, I’ve been listening to those old recordings of violinists and bandoneons, and felt inspired to open up my old book and revisit these tunes. As a classical violist, getting to scratch and gliss through melodies like La Cumparsita is a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon. (Interested?
